@Lev: I always appreciate seeing your name pop up in the comments, and I can't thank you enough for those compliments. (People who dislike my reviews would probably guffaw at the notion that they are "ego-free," and even I sometimes worry that my write-ups are a little more blustery or short-fused than I mean them to be, so "ego-free" was especially kind of you!)

@Adelutza: Good luck with those rush tickets! Tomorrow, of course, is the one day in the entire festival that I expect not to be there.

@Colin: Thank you, too, for such kind words and for being such a regular and thought-provoking commenter.

@Tim: I'm opting against the surprise screening, just because I feel that in good weather or foul, it always winds up being something that's going to open commercially before long. I might be wrong, but I imagine I'll either be trying to get into Persecution or About Elly that night, even if I've already caught it once. Or maybe I should pay the actual living people in my life some attention? I'll need to ponder that possibility...

Oh boy, your reviews of My Neighbor, My Killer and Paranormal Activity have got me psyched to watch them both. Dare I say your writing has surpassed itself, which is quite a feat? I don't comment here too much, but I wanted to say that I read your site avidly and am in love with your writing. There are few critics I've read who I find to be more intelligent, insightful, interesting and ego-free.
